Dr Helen Kingston

 

Clinical Director

Dr Helen Kingston is a Partner of Frome Medical Practice, a large multisite practice. She is a GP Trainer with 14 years of experience.  She has a keen interest in primary care team education, staff development and in particular inpatient self-management. She sits in the clinical commissioning operations group in Somerset as chair of East Mendip Federation and is lead for patient and public involvement. She has worked across Frome's practices in Hampshire, Wiltshire and Somerset and seen the benefits of learning from collaborative working and the cross-fertilisation of ideas that this offers.

Ms Viv Laing

Operations Director

Viv retired as Managing Partner of a Wiltshire surgery in 2009, following 20 years working in General Practice.  She was instrumental in bringing vaccination training for HCAs into the County, as well as near-patient INR tests, and working with Wiltshire College to provide accredited training for HCAs.  She has a special interest in HR and Training.  Her qualifications include the City & Guilds FE Teacher’s Certificate and she is a member of the Institute of Healthcare Management

Mrs Penelope Morgan-Elliot

 

Director of Clinical Training

Penelope obtained her BA Hons in Religious Studies in 1997, following which she worked in Social Services Adult Care for a couple of years, playing a key part in the development of the Duty Clerk role, supporting Social Workers and Occupational Therapists. 

 

Overlapping with this was her work in Primary Care, which became her passion for 20 years, undertaking a variety of responsibilities, including IT & Data Management, QOF Management, Team Leader & being the Caldicott Guardian.  She joined the NfP Team in 2009, whilst also working in a GP Practice in the heart of Wiltshire.   

 

Having a keen interest in Clinical Skills development, through working with the Nursing Team and GPs with QOF, Penelope left her role in Primary Care in 2013 to concentrate on developing the Clinical Training side of NfP.

Mrs Thelma Speed

Director of non-Clinical Training

Thelma is a semi-retired Practice Manager, General Practice consultant, and Healthcare Inspectorate Wales (HIW)  peer reviewer with over 12 years’ experience managing single and multi-site practices in England and Wales. She has overseen finance, HR, premises, IT, and strategic development, including supporting CCG and federation formation and introducing pharmacists to practices.

 

Thelma provided a leading role helping to set up a private clinic in North Wales and is committed to the sustainability and cost-effectiveness of General Practice. 

 

Thelma joined NfP in January 2018 arranging face to face training for Clinical and Non Clinical practice staff in Wales.  Thelma now serves as Director for Non Clinical Training arranging face to face and online workshops across the UK for practice managers and their non clinical teams.

Mrs Anika Butler-Wyatt

Administrator

Anika is a qualified teacher with more than 20 years experience in both primary and secondary education. She now works as a private tutor and a GCSE assessor.

 

She joined the NfP team as Administrator in 2018.

Mrs Gwenda Talbot

​Director of Administration

Gwenda qualified as a nurse in 1985 following this up with qualifying as a midwife in 1989.
She spent the subsequent years working either in a variety of areas, which included the
renal unit, A&E and also practicing as a midwife.


In 1999, her journey in Primary Care began, initially as a triage nurse and then moving on to
undertake a variety of roles in administration providing her with a very good working
knowledge of how a surgery works at all levels.
Gwenda joined the NfP team in the very early days of Network for Practices when she
undertook some administrative tasks.


Over the years, her role has developed and expanded significantly. She is now the Director
of Administration, overseeing much of the day-to-day running of NfP. Gwenda is committed
to ensuring we consistently provide the highest level of service and that we fulfil the training
requirements of as many practices and professionals as possible.
